Temporary Prohibition

Ceredigion County Council

The Council intends, not less than 7 days from 08/06/2022, to make

the Ceredigion County Council (King Street, Aberystwyth) (Temporary

Traffic Restrictions: Prohibition of Through Traffic and Traffic Flow)

Order 2022 along and on those lengths of highway as mentioned in

Schedule 1, 2a and 2b, of this Notice. Pedestrian access maintained.

Schedule 1. Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic: King Street, from

its junction with Castle Street heading generally east for a distance of

approximately 40 yards to private entrance. The alternative route for

eastbound traffic from Castle Street is to travel west along King Street

to its junction with New Promenade. Turn right into New Promenade

and travel east to its junction Pier Street and Marine Terrace. A total

distance of approximately 500 yards. Schedule 2a. Temporary Changes

to Traffic Flow: King Street: One-way traffic flow travelling west from

Castle Street to New Promenade. Schedule 2b. King Street: Two-way

traffic flow from the point east of the road closure to the junction with

Pier Street (to maintain access to private forecourt). It is intended that

the Order will come into force on 20/06/2022 and will remain in place

until the demolition and building works for Aberystwyth University are

completed. This will take approximately 8 months. The Order may

continue in force for 18 months.

NOTICE is given that the Council have made the Ceredigion

County Council (B4342A Rhiwafallen Bridge, Talsarn) (Temporary

Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order 2022 to prohibit any vehicle

proceeding along that highway. Pedestrian access maintained.

The alternative route for east bound traffic from a point west of the

closure is to travel west along the B4342 to the junction with the

B4337 in Talsarn. Turn right into the B4337 and travel north to the

junction with the B4577 in Cross Inn. Turn right into the B4577,

signposted Tregaron and travel east to the junction with the

B4578 in Tyncelyn. Turn left into the B4578 and immediate right into

the A485 signposted Tregaron. In Tregaron turn right and continue

along the A485, Lampeter Road, to the junction with the B4342.

Turn right into the B4342, signposted Llangeitho and travel west to

Stag’s Head. Go straight ahead at the crossroads and continue along

the B4342 to the roundabout in Llangeitho. Take the 3rd exit,

signposted Talsarn and continue west along the B4342 to the junction

with the B4576 and the point east of the road closure; and vice versa.

A total distance of approximately 25 miles. The Order was

implemented on the 06/06/2022 and will remain in place until the

bridge repairs is completed in approximately 6 weeks. The Order may

continue in force for 18 months.
